Originally constructed in the 1880s (it was originally a farmhouse located on Cottage Street but was moved in the 1940s!), this quaint village house was completely renovated for the 2017 rental season! The lovely, comfortable accommodations offer your family a great home base for your Acadia vacation.Located on Atlantic Avenue it's very convenient to everything in downtown Bar Harbor. 1881 House is just two blocks from the Village Green, where you can catch the free Islander Explorer Bus (it begins running late June), enjoy a band concert in the evening or the occasional art show. It's also just a 5 minute walk to the harbor, 10 minute walk to the Sand Bar Beach, where you can walk out to Bar Island at low tide! Enjoy the lovely front porch, and BBQ area to the side of the house, too. There are 3 bedrooms, all upstairs: two king bedrooms, and a bedroom with a bunk bed (two twins) and a daybed with pullout/pop up trundle bed (2 more twins). Also upstairs is a full bathroom with tub and shower. On the main floor there is a brand new kitchen, dining area, living room and a bathroom with shower. Amenities include cable TVs (in living room and all bedrooms), BlueRay, WIFI, washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas BBQ, linens, parking for 2 or more cars, microwave, coffeemaker, and outdoor furnishings on the porch.
